Mrs. Aitken formed Aitken Law, LLC to offer clients more personable yet professional legal services. Mrs. Aitken’s practice has focused exclusively on prosecuting and defending civil appeals in the Colorado Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and various District Courts of Colorado since early 2006. Mrs. Aitken works closely with trial counsel in all aspects of appellate practice from co-counseling, consulting to lead attorney on the appeal. Mrs. Aitken also utilizes her prior trial litigation and paralegal skills in helping clients to prosecute or defend remand hearings. Mrs. Aitken also handles limited trial litigation cases for existing appellate clients. In law school, Mrs. Aitken received the American Jurisprudence Award in Advanced Trial Practice. She was also the recipient of the Barrister’s Appellate Advocacy Competition Award for Best Brief.
